Ruben Smits (1991) studied choir conducting at Utrecht Conservatory, Vocal Leadership at Rotterdam and Tilburg Conservatories and MA Musicology at Utrecht University.

As a conductor, he relates to many different musical genres, ranging from pop and jazz to classical symfonic pieces. As a renowned choir arranger, he has written several hundreds of vocal arrangements for all voicings, commissioned by a.o. the Dutch Student Chamber Choir, vocal groups Twelve, the Amsterdam Vocals and Leeuwenhart and sung by choirs and vocal groups throughout Europe and the United States.

Also, he teaches choir conducting and arranging at the Ward Swingle Summer Course and other places. Lastly, he is artistic director of choir video platform, Youth Committee-member of ECA-EC and music editor of several choir music songbooks.

Recent milestones include the publication of the Holland House Songbook, performing in the finals of the Dutch Choir Festival competition and conducting Mozart's 'Requiem' with choir and symphony orchestra.
